Dick - just let me know when you are ready to sell something . . .
K22 First Models are often found for sale, but as Dick noted, you will find many sellers asking for well over $2K for the gun only in not so great condition, but if those guns are still for sale, they are over valued. Not to say that a few won't sell for those high prices, but not a majority of them. To break down values, the infamous red box is not selling for over $1000 empty and if you can ever find the early maroon boxes, probably more. A decent K22, 1st should sell for something over the $700 mark today. A really nice one will get above $1000 and a near-perfect specimen would probably sell for $2000 plus at auction. If you find an original grip adapter, I would say it could sell for $250??
You can add up those values as you wish, but I usually see that the set will not command the same value as if sold piece by piece right now. I picked up this decent first year K22 Outdoorsman, two years ago for $500, but would probably go closer to $800 today at auction.
Let me add the valuations that were published in the latest Supica and Nahas SCSW4. Fair $750, Good $1500, Very Good $1850, Excellent $2400, and ANIB $3000. Personally, I think those values are too strong, but read the book in a year and they might be low.
