I guess I am not a purist. Most of my S&W revolvers are older and have no ILs but when I bought some new ones I didn't think twice about the ILs. This 4" M686+ is an outstanding fighting handgun, as is the 3", as well as the 2.5". They each have their place and the ILs don't even make me blink.
Okay, I'll toss in a couple of older ones for grins....all good fighting guns and I have carried every single one of them.
