The Alliant web site has a contact tab that I have used a couple of times for reloading data not listed in their current manual. They have always responded promptly to my requests for information.

A few days ago I asked for information on .44 Special loads using BE-86 with a 240 grain cast SWC and a 180 grain JHP. I received an answer the next day with the below information.

Both data was listed using Federal cases and Federal 150 primers. While the 240 grain bullet listed was not a SWC it still provides a valid data point.

180 gr JHP (Speer/Fed): COL 1.440, 8.1 grains (max), 1020 FPS.

240 RNFP (Desperado): COL 1.450, 6.7 grains (max), 848 FPS.

Give them a try, they should be able to help you out with your .38 loads.
