The term is highly over used and far too often used by those that don't know what it even means.
LOL........ I don't think anyone(civilian) can even buy a mil-spec M-16 or M-4 which are not a AR.. cus they are new guns (post 1968) that fire burst and/or full auto......... AR-15 are a non-mil spec civilian look alike!!!! AKA "Modern Sporting Rifle"

I own "several": Beretta 92s not a single one is Mil-spec........... mine are compacts,Centurions, Inox and Elite IIs.............. not one meets Mil-spec.......... barrels are too short...... wrong finish........ or in the Case of the Elite IIs .......just way too COOoool !!!!!!!
