I also live in California and have to deal with our anti gun laws prohibiting us from buying older guns or guns not on the DOJ roster of approved firearms. We can only buy non roster guns on a face to face sale. What I see with the prices, is a person selling a gun on consignment increases the price of his gun by $100 or more to cover the commission of the gun dealer. This allows the seller to get more cash to his pocket. the dealer gets his 20% for the sale and the buyer gets a gun in Calif that he cannot otherwise buy. Works out for everyone is you understand the system and know you are going to pay more that gun than in other states.
