I was pretty die hard Glock until I first fired an M&P. The M&P grip and trigger reach fit my medium sized hand more comfortably (even with the large blackstrap) than even the Gen 4 Glocks. Compared to the Shield, the full sized M&P is still going to feel wider. I have a 9mm Shield and a G43, and the slender profile of both frames takes some retraining of thought and feel. There are, of course similarities, but enough differences to affect shooting performance. Through training, one can overcome the differences and shoot accurately with either platform.
