Monday morning quarterback comment: I'm of the opinion that both officers running away from the house and the armed subject was a tactical error. There was a point when the officer at the door first saw the subject with the rifle and he could have taken cover to the side of the doorway and ordered the subject to drop the rifle - thereby alerting the other officer of the situation. Turning your back on an armed subject and running away from the threat could have been a deadly error under slightly different circumstances. Best to take immediate and direction action towards the threat.
