Default model 63, 25 yds. benchrested

This information may be pretty near worthless to anyone but me...

I've mentioned on here before that J-frame guns are plenty accurate but most of us lack the offhand skills to take advantage of their accuracy. I lack such skills.

I've had a M63 for a good while and practice with it occasionally, always at 25 yards. Recently, I tested around ten .22LR ammos, benchrested at 25 yds. Been using CCI Standard velocity in everything for years because it's reasonably accurate in most rifles and handguns. My recent work was cursory at best, firing ten-shot groups through several handguns. CCI SV was the winner in my 63 with a group size of 1.75", followed closely by (surprisingly, too) Federal HV 40 gr., blue box, 2".

These groups slightly beat the ones I fired with a 6" Model 17, a gun I bought new more than thirty years ago. While my groups sizes are certainly not accuracy records, I was surprised that the 63 would group as tightly as it did. My best one-handed shooting at 25 yds. produces groups far larger, probably in the 4"-6" range. So the 63 is capable even if I'm not...
