I bought a Model 69 as a field gun, both for hunting, (Whitetail deer or Black bear), and for protection when woods walking:



Whenever I carry a revolver as primary weapon (as in hunting deer or bear) I usually carry a semi-auto as backup. Back up to the 69 when hunting in bear country is now a 10mm conversion to a 4013:



For woods walking the "1013" (the pistol S&W should have made) makes me comfortable for defense of any 2 or 4 legged creature I could encounter, and it conceals nearly as well as my 3914 DAO which I use for urban carry.
