My ol model 54 shoots the 130 gr HP very well. I have even shot the 165 gr Hornady plastic tipped STS bullet pretty well in the 54. The Rem 788 will shoot almost any bullet... round flat pointy really well. It is not particularly accurate with my 311 041 cast bullet though. My favorite powder is long discontinued Hi Vel #2. The first round out of the Model 64 with the 130 gr HP is usually a DRT on the average whitetail...out to 150-175 yds or so
