Talking My first model 10

Up until recently, I wasn't a fan of fixed sight revolvers. I think I
was sorta like Quigley, " Said I never had much use for one.
Never said I didn't know how to use it."

That changed a while back when I got the post war M&P that
coaxed me into initially posting on this site in Dec 2014.

After getting the 64's and 640's (brought about by folks here
posting about them) I started looking for another blue one to
complement the M&P.

2 weeks ago, one of the auction sites had a model 10 with what
looked like stag grips on it. I don't know what it is with folks who
sell stuff on line but the vast majority of them do a quick pic,
think the bad photo is good enough and post it.

I bid on it (only one who did) and it showed up Thursday.

It's a 10-6. SN D146881 I "think" is a mid 1969 birthday.

The gun looks just about new. Only flaw is some thinning on the
barrel on the right side which I can't get the cell phone to pick up
and just a little rub on the hammer and trigger There
was a little fouling. Maybe less than 500 rds shot. It
was also bone dry inside

The grips when I pulled them looked like they might be Ajax by
the little drill holes for the arced retainers. But in this case I guess
someone removed the aluminum and used a couple pennys.
The only other grips I've seen that had coinage in them like this
had nickels. With the loupe, I can barely read 1970 on one of
the penny's. There were no other marks on the grips.

It cost $339.99 and based on what sambar stag grips with any
color are going for I got the gun free. I'm very happy.
