In the years I've collected engraved S&Ws, I have come across a bunch of engraved M&Ps, which always surprises me as to why someone would put all the money and effort into engraving the most common S&W model. Many of the ones that I have seen were engraved just after the war and appeared to be done in Germany for servicemen and I kind of understand that - the M&Ps were available and the talent was there for a reasonable cost... Regardless of the reason, I have looked a them for years, but never purchased one... That is until I found this one and after watching it for months, I was finally able to negotiate a price that made sense for me... So, enough of the story, here are the photos:













Not the finest piece that I own, but a well executed pattern with a couple of beautiful silver inlays.
