I would use different ammo, like Barnes TSX... and I would also test that optic before I went out in the field with it. Not sure it will hold up on the AR, but maybe it will. Also, don't worry about the front sight post. At 4x power or higher, you won't even see it. The focal point for the scope is further out than the front sight, so it will just ghost out.
