If you are looking to get away from the round hand guard, there are many replacement hand guards to choose from that may give you a more familiar feel. Added bonus, they will come with heat shields.
Although I haven't replaced the hand guards on my Sport, that is one upgrade that makes a lot of sense... My .22lr AR has better hand guards than what came on the Sport!
