I have an 1899 from the Navy contract, SN 5208. No caliber roll mark on the barrel. The Navy no. is 206. It has British commercial proof marks for the .38-200 Briticsh cartridge and is stamped on the right side of the barrel ".38 .710 4 tons" and the chambers have been reamed to accept .38 S&W cartridges. Both the barrel and the cylinder have stamped stars enclosing a capitol I. The gun has been refinished, so some markings are faint.
