I bought my second Shield 9 two weeks ago tomorrow. Traded in my Ruger SR9c (which I liked).

I want to have two carry guns in case something happens to one, and I was feeling more and more like my Shield and my SR9c were too dissimilar to each other. The Ruger had a very short and light trigger that demanded the safety, IMO. The Shield has a longer, heavier trigger and I'm comfortable with leaving the safety off. Which is a good thing because that thing is so small and stiff that it's difficult to disengage consistently. And the way it's shaped, I think it was made deliberately to not be able to engage it accidentally.

Now I have two carry guns that are essentially the same. The older one has white dot sights and the safety, and the new one has tritium sights and no safety, but operationally, they're identical and I can train with either of them. I really like that.
