My most recent firearm purchase is a M&P C.O.R.E. in 9mm. Why? Old eyes were making it difficult to track the front sight of my 1911s at speed during USPSA matches, and I had a boatload of previously loaded 9mm ammo. Mounting a red dot on the pistol makes it getting A Zone hits easier. It took a while to learn to "find the dot" thought. Now that I've had cataract surgery, the 1911s are more appealing.
