What side is your gun stamped?
My 625-2 1988 is rolled marked Smith & Wesson on the left side of the barrel and 45 CAL Model Of 1988 on the right side and shipped with Pachmayr rubber grips.Mine has a pinned black ramp front sight.Inside the barrel shroud is stamped a small S and there's a F stamped on the rear of the cylinder. The left side of the grip frame has an assembly number 71996. and a large S.On the right side of the grip frame is an S inside a triangle and a G inside a circle plus number 7934.On the back of the side plate is the same 71996 assembly number and a large S stamped in the metal.

The 625-2 1989 has etched markings on the barrel and shipped with Hogue rubber grips.

All 625-2 have 5" barrels if original as shipped from the factory.
