I agree...somewhat. There's something about the vintage work, though...hard to put my finger on just what it is. The older work just seems to have an aura about it, things from an earlier time.
El Paso Saddlery has had some recent employee turnover. One of two of their older craftsmen (and women) have left. This is what I was told by their QC guy. Since I haven't ordered anything from them in about a year, I don't know if the level of craftsmanship is equal to what was there a year or so ago. But I imagine it's close.
I'd really like to have some of their floral carving with a dyed background...but they charge extra for it, and you have to call to find out how much...which makes me pretty sure I couldn't afford it.
I'd also like to see them offer different styles of border stamping. They currently offer only one style.
