S&W will probably never start making 3/4th gen pistols again, even if they did it would never the same. I grew up in Toledo, not the biggest of cities, but in the 80's/90's when we went to a gun show we had dealers that had every 3rd gen pistol smith made, every model and variation. Another dealer had every revolver smith made. Another dealer had every barrel configuration and component to put together a Thompson contender. So many choices, hard to decide. It will never be the same
