Bruce,

You have an excellent array of different style jigged bone examples which can be a 'learning moment' to those that are confused with Sambar Stag, to compare with the real McCoys in Posts #1 & #2 above.

The jigged ivory are the first I've ever seen and probably as rare as hen's teeth! They may be sacrilege to some. But they make sense on a large cal handgun that might get a little slippery with smooth grips and sweaty hands in a gun fight .
