This corporate policy also take hundreds of thousands of older guns still in service out of commission by limiting service or ending parts production (and therefore support) entirely. I understand Smith & Wesson is in the business of selling new guns but the change in corporate philosophy is quite disheartening. The current S&W isn't the Company I grew up with and the change isn't for the better.

I agree. It hasn't been that many years ago (at least it doesn't seem like it) that Brownell's carried a very complete line of S&W parts. I don't know if they stopped due to lack of sales or because S&W quit supplying them, but I suspect the latter.
