I have had guns, rifle and handguns , lubed with FP-10 go gummy during semi-long term (12 months) storage. I had to totally de gum them....Rem Oil has a mineral oil base and micro-Teflon particles in it and hasn't gone gummy, ever . The mineral oil will eventually dissipate but the micro layer of Teflon provide a dry lube and protect from rust pretty darn well.
