Might be a problem of where your placing your finger on the straight trigger . A lower placement of your finger on the trigger will press the safety lever in quickly and completely before the trigger starts moving to the rear were a higher finger position with a lite trigger pull may start the trigger moving to the rear before the safety levers pressed in enough to clear the frame ??

I was trying different positions on mine and that seems to possible to do even on a curved trigger with high finger placement . Maybe apex will exchange the trigger for you . Never hurts to ask .
