I have a 686 Pro SSR. From the factory mine was a little heavy also. I installed a lighter rebound spring but was hesitant about reliability. I took it to a S&W gunsmith to have a deluxe action job performed. He replaced the spring back to stock and the trigger pull is now 9lbs. 13oz. I'm happy with the gun and my decision.
