I have quite a few one of a kinds in my collection that are the only known S&W ever shipped to Fred Kxxx, or John Dxxx, or Robert Vxxx, etc, but I did not pay a premium for any of them. To me, a gun sent to the Post Office was just a standard purchase and worth little premium I could buy a beautiful mint condition K22 for $1000 and would rather do so, but there are collectors who would pay the price, don't know how many.

If you are simply buying the gun because of where it was sent, I would pass. If you are buying the gun for resale, I would worry about making a bundle on it, I would pass, but if you really need a US Post Office K22, go pay the money.
The Model 45 is a completely different critter from the K22 Masterpiece.
