Default .32 SA Wood Box Photos

Here are a few pictures of the wood boxes that I have owned. The boxes don't have labels outside nor do they have serial numbers written on the bottom as would be found on the paste board boxes. I suppose that I should say that the blue .32 SA revolvers are scarce.

The instructions inside the top for loading the arm are interesting. The first 100 or so .32 Single Action revolvers had a half-cock and the instructions said: "Half cock the arm". Since S&W never threw anything away, the next instructions had those words blacked out by over-printing a black ink rectangle on the previously printed inventory of box instructions. The revolver was now being manufactured with the rebounding hammer feature and the half-cock notch had been eliminated. The third type of instructions were printed without any reference to having to half cock the arm.
