Not knowing what holster(s) you are rotating I would venture to guess you could do this even with the double stack 40.
The nice thing about the velcro attached to the back of the holster, is you can remove the pads and re-position them as often as you need to in order to find that sweet spot (lower, a little left or right of center). just be sure to cover the holster with sufficient velco to give yourself some move around room with the pad pack.....
