I am uncomfortable with the FSS kit in anything but a competition range-only pistol, but many of the public have chosen to use it in carry guns. As APEX says, if it works when you test it, then that's all you know. IMHO, if you are concerned that the factory tolerance is used up, then do you really want to use it off the range? Your choice.
