Perhaps I can add some insight. The gap you see is typical for the M2.0 system. The minimum gap should be roughly .040". Our drop test protocol requires a 6 foot drop onto concrete in 27 different orientations, so while it makes me cringe when I see/hear the gun hit the slab, I know that we have done our very best to ensure our product integrates with the pistol safely.
The forward set system is designed to get as close to a box stock Colt 1911 (as far as trigger travel) in a striker fired pistol while maintaining all all safety values. The only way to do that in the M2.0 is with our patented sear actuator. If you feel uncomfortable or in any way believe it is unsafe, we do have our more traditional Action Enhancement trigger kits that utilize the factory actuator which will give you more pre-travel but maintain a much larger gap.
