Thanks for your experiences. I guess the stainless steels, and the new coatings make it possible to ship without any kind of
preservatives. Just struck me as odd since S&W doesn't know when the pistol will reach its ultimate destination.

As I said previously, my M&P 1.0 sat for a year before I obtained
it in 2017 (manufactured in 2016) The new M&P was bone dry with a dirty bore also.
