Smith was 20 years (at least) ahead of the rest of the industry with the Chief's Special. Apparently they realized that with the Shield.

I have one identical to it and it has become my most carried 9mm and my 2nd favorite 3rd gen gun, after my 4513TSW. I view the CS9, like many of the small single stack sub compact 9mms out there, as the "modern day j-frames". Easy to carry, fairly easy (with some regular practice) to shoot well, easy to conceal.

The only way to improve upon the stock CS9, IMO, is to put some TercGen Delrin grips on it. Makes it a pocket pistol, for me.

Great little gun! Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI
