Default Almost Forgotten Autos

The old Walther P-38 has always felt smooth and wonderful to me, closely followed by Browning HP. Sig's are next. They all just feel buttery smooth with no lumps. Current M&P autos with double stack, fat mags are pretty much the same, but not single stack Shields. I like S&W wheelguns better to shoot, but for me only K-frames with smooth target grips approach the comfort of my favorite old autoloaders above. I guess I just like smooth. I like 1911's but never picked one up that didn't have a ridge or bump somewhere that felt like a piece of toolwork, not a contoured grip.
