There are plenty of replacement barrel makers. I like Storm lake, I have a couple of conversion barrels. They are most likely made out of the same 416R stainless that the factory barrel. Mean time to failure on the factory barrel would be around 40-50k rounds. Depending on bullet type. The "upgrade" barrels uses more precise dimensions. I think that limits you more to certain ammo types.
