I CAN carry a full size double stack and did so when it was my only pistol, but now i CHOOSE to carry a Shield because it is SO MUCH more comfortable IWB and lighter. And I can tell you that the 45 Shield is very close to the dimensions and weight of the 9/40 but I can tell the difference iwb, so no way do I want to go back to a double stack.

The Shield 45 is a sweet shooter and is the only gun I shoot at the range because I want to shoot what I carry (makes sense to me). I don’t mess around, I shoot 100-200 rounds to stay proficient and leave. I am no more fatigued after 200 rounds out of the Shield than a FS 9mm.

8 rounds with a 7 round mag in reserve is plenty for CCW. You won’t be disappointed with the Shield. I’ve had all three calibers over the last 3-4 years and never had a single problem.
