I carry a S&W 6946, which is a double stack, 12 round magazine, double action only action. I like it a lot, carried it for years. My biggest fear with carrying it is that should I be involved in a self-defense shooting, it would likely be confiscated and held in an evidence locker until the case was cleared. That could mean months of it sitting, dirty, and perhaps not in the best of climate controlled areas. That is really the biggest reason I sometimes consider buying a plastic... errrr... "polymer" pistol.
