There's a reason the two models you named are sought high and low. 44 Special will do 90% of what a 44 Magnum will do and yet it is superbly accurate and comfortable to shoot. I also have a Model 69 44 on a L Frame and I love it. 24s/624s are spendy and hard to find so I wish you well if you intend to search.
