I put together an M16A1 semiauto clone back in 1969, when the M16A1 was the newest standard issue. It utilizes a 1967-vintage Colt AR-15 SP1 semiautomatic lower, an M16A1 butt-stock and a 1969-vintage Colt M16A1 upper. It's a darn accurate gun, too.
