I expect there' a whole lot more varieties in ammunition in any given brand than there are in chips. Pressures and velocities might well change in different lots of ammo, requiring yet another box type. Massive expense and, as noted, most customers would neither know the difference nor care. Besides, you can always visit their website for velocity/energy/trajectory.

I recall a comment by an automotive writer maybe half a century ago: "Whoever sells the most bananas makes the most money, brown spots or not."
