One of the best "Bump in the night" responses I've heard of was a Florida LGS owner who was licensed to own fully automatic firearms and whose home was next to his gun store. When the silent alarm went off, he responded with a 12ga, an M-16, and a 9mm sub-machine gun, IIRC.


I think slinging a long gun over your shoulder on your Florida property is safe.
