Thanks for your replies. The 32cal is antique, as no commercial ammo is made but the 22 is on licence as the 22 short is still around,even though no black powder loads are made but in police eyes the 22 will fit. There are a few hoops to jump through to own firearms here. Complete a safety course for long guns and or handguns. Handguns are quite regulated. You need to be a member of a club and do the required number of shoots. Collecting Pre 47 is not to bad but post 47 is not automatic "must have a prolonged and genuine interest" to prove. Each state in Australia will have a different spin on licence requirements. The self defence of and or property is not a genuine reason to apply for a licence. Only sport shooting and or hunting is a genuine reason
