Being a Florida guy like yourself, suggest stainless if available. Ref barrel length, short extractor rod moved me from a 2 1/2 to a 3. But they are as rare as chickens’ teeth. A good open hand punch on the 2 1/2 extractor rod will eject all but the most stubborn casings. Good luck.
