The K frame 357's are nice guns, be it a 19 or 66 stainless version. IMHO, I would not use the real hot stuff as you suggested. I would however offer that you might consider an N frame model 28-2 or -3. Basically a no frills model 27. Either 4" or 6". There are lots of them around on the used market.
