Wow, some here are pretty harsh on the O.P. His reasoning for doing what he is doing is sound. To cut weight on a firearm that he is, I assume, proficient with and comfortable carrying with that number of rounds. My answer is no, I don't. However, moving to a smaller gun to get to the same mag capacity, as some suggest, answers the lower weight problem; but, it is a completely different feel, I assume, than that provided him by using his current gun of choice. Some of you hammering him/making light of him seem to be saying that you would be O.K. if he moved to a j-frame that holds 5 rounds; but, you feel he is being absurd by removing rounds (still carrying more than the j-frame) to save weight while remaining proficient and familiar.
