I have two of those Nikon 3-9x40 prostaff scopes and love how you still can see at dusk. They’re on a CZ 452 American .22lr and a Winchester 490.
The Winchester 490 doesn't see much use so I may move the Nikon over to my Winchester 9422.
I have a Henry Golden Boy but wasn’t sure how solid that cantilever mount would be. Maybe I’ll get another Nikon.
UPDATE: I did get the cantilevered scope mount for the Henry Golden Boy and put the Nikon 3-9x40 on it with low scope rings. Very nice!
I put an older Tasco (made in Japan) 4x32 scope on the Winchester 9422 and will probably get another Nikon 3-9x40 eventually. Truth is I seldom use more that the 4 setting on my .22 rifles so a 4x32 is good.
