It's interesting that the barrel is marked Smith & Wesson. The stock 686 barrel does not have, IMO, the "rib" material above the bore to be safely milled out to create a vent rib; nor is it a Python barrel with a Smith & Wesson roll mark.. So where did the barrel come from ?? Someone should be able to solve the mystery
