SOME brands of .38 Super will chamber in SOME .38 Special/.357 revolvers. And some won't. If they fit, they will fire OK. The noise and recoil actually seem quite mild. The .38 Super bullet diameter is slightly undersized. Sort of like shooting .32 ACP in a .32 S&W Long revolver.
