You have the U. S. Navy Contract version. They went up to around SN V266xxx (mid-1943) with that topstrap stamp. They are not unusual or rare, but there will normally be a price premium for one with the Navy stamp. The Navy used them primarily for arming aviation flight crews. Most of the U. S. Military Victories in .38 Special went to the U. S. Navy, but not all of them have the U. S. Navy topstrap stamp. All had 4" barrels. P is a proof mark. There are a few U. S. Navy-stamped pre-Victories, i.e., without the V prefix to the serial number.
