I also as A head firearms instructor for a large department have thousands of rounds through my auto and have trained many officers, so yes have seen many malfunctions. Can you carry your auto in a pocket and fire through that pocket. I'm carrying to protect me not the world. Also if I'm going to go some where where its really really bad I have many other fire arms to choose from.

Auto work for you then carry it, revolver works for me that is what I'll carry.
