The Smiths hearken back to the years when DS had gunsmiths instead of "armorers", agents who were assigned positions of responsibility to make decisions rather than committees and boards stuffed with people to render "reviews". Days when agents could be found carrying real guns of various sorts- 1911s, Hi-Powers, .44, .45 and .357 revolvers. Now, we're all carrying platforms- and not very cool, pretty or any more efficient ones- chambered in the latest sow's ear turned silk purse... So many people have drunk the Kool-Aid...
